At a loss for words

As I mentioned when  I reintroduced myself in my previous blog  posts, I have not written a  blog post in well over 1 year. In my own defense, I am  NOT a slacker.  I just have a hard time having a one-way conversation. LOL

See, as anyone who knows me can attest to, I love to talk.  I love to talk WITH people though.  I find it difficult to do blog posts because I don’t have the same  immediate interaction with whomever I am talking to.  I feed off of social interaction.  I always have.

Before I lost my vision I always worked in fields where I spent most of my time meeting with, interviewing, and generally interacting with people from all walks of life.  Sometimes it was one on one, and, most recently, it has been in roles where I plan large events, speak to large groups, and  talk to different people online and on the  phone on a regular basis.
It is hard to believe I was painfully shy when I was young.  LOL

I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that I use humor when I interact with people.  If the conversation stalls, I  make a joke.  And, if it is funny, the other person laughs.  If the conversation takes a wrong turn, I say something silly or lighthearted to try and bring it  back.
So, basically, it is easier for me to direct the course of the conversation when it is interactive.  A  blog post is different.  I have to wait (something I am NOT so good at) to see if folks comment and how they respond to what I wrote about. I like immediate gratification I guess.

I have had people suggest doing a podcast to me.  Well, unless I have a co-host (let me know if you are interested!), it is the same.  I am still talking to myself.

I suppose what it boils down to is the fact that we all have our own ways of communicating and conveying our thoughts and feelings.
I am just going to keep working on improving ALL of my communication skills so I may continue to amuse and  entertain you via as many outlets as humanly possible. LOL

What about you?  Do you have any blogs you enjoy and that you follow?  Do YOU have a blog?
